I realize that Kennel Quilts to help out animals in disaster isn't for everyone, but after the death of my beloved cat Sammy Jo from feline Leukemia, and my little Yorky (stroke brought on by diabetis and pancreatitis) in 2024 it is dear to my heart. I have an abundance of fabric, thread, and batting for the most part, so all it cost me is my time and postage. I consider this my donation to the church collection plate if you get my meaning. Anyway I mailed off 12 more Kennel Quilts to help with the fires in North Carolina this morning in their memory.

It really doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of our projects, as long as it makes us happy. The fact that is serves someone or a pet shouldn’t matter. I think it’s a lovely gesture in honor of your beloved fur family. We need more people in the world like you💕

We all have our reasons for sewing, a gift, to sell, an order and in many cases, to donate. What a wonderful way to honor your lost pets. I am sure it brings you comfort, and helps heal the heart when you are working on these. They are quite lovely, and I am sure rescue shelters are thrilled when they receive them.
