Hello fellow quilters,
I have a question concerning my rag die on my Accuquilt Big! HAs anyone experienced the dies don't cut all the way through? I have tried multiple layers to just using a single layer and I still have to manually cut some areas of the die. I even run it through the machine twice. Any tips or tricks on why or how I can fix this issues? I've cleaned them, but they did this even being brand new. What's the use of using it, if it doesn't cut thoroughly.

I put a piece of paper on the die first. That seems to help with the strings getting caught in the die. I had one spot that didn't cut all the way through the snips. I just pulled it off from the fabric. Didn't hurt anything as it was already rags. What I do is quilt the block front and back with batting if using, then cut the rags using the die. One at a time. The block doesn't have to be perfect size as the die will cut each block the same exact size.

it is a fairly common problem with complicated dies. my crazy quilt die does this.
you can film it with your camera and send it to accuquilt to see if they will replace it, if you bought it from them, I think they are guarenteed for a year.
and it might be the mat, use a different one and see if the same thing happens?
