    Default Placemat pattern search

A few yrs ago I made a set of placemats by a free pattern that I have lost , or can’t find. It entails having a contrasting back that is folded over to the front and mitered on all corners. Then the focus fabric & batting are tucked in, and border is stitched all around. It was not difficult, as I recall, but I can’t wrap my mind around the measurements & mitering w the hem edges already pressed, ready to sew. Does anyone know where I can find the instructions again? I’ve tried to upload photo from this iPad, but my pix is too lge.

I've made these before. There is a video. Let me see if I saved it.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSUW...FSewingChannel

It's very slow, shows every step so I speed up the play back to 2x.

It's the same method as the self mitered baby blanket.

Onebyone, thank you for the video link. My borders were much wider than demo, but it’s not a problem…I can adjust bc I like the wider border. The instruction for mitering corners is primarily my 'need to know'. I thank you so much for your response.

The pattern I orig used was a printed pdf with pix. The “Thanksgiving” placemat video is closest to what I remember doing.

This video has a downloadable pdf with pictures at the bottom of the listing. This is the one I was referring to in my earlier post. Hope this helps!

Cutting the corners to look like a square is missing from them is the easiest way.
