Well I thought I started this last night but forgot to hit submit apparently! I’m still unpacking but have found all my sewing machines which is a plus. What are you all up to this weekend? Next VQW is August 8-10.

Happy Independence Day! Just had our bi-annual quilt show so resting up from that and all the committees and meetings. Pulling out a UFO from a quilt pattern I got from Irish Quilting Magazine if anyone remembers that publication. I have the blocks mostly done but need to configure the rest if the quilt and sewing some kennel quilts to send to shelters.

I was looking for this post earlier but got involved with a family celebration. Glad I stumbled on it this evening. I will be working on layering and quilting one top from the QB Boom Swap. If I get really productive nor need a brake from the Boom Quilt, I have sets of little cuts ready to make little Wonky Stars blocks for a super scrappy quilt top.
Happy July 4th and enjoy all of your celebrations with friends and family.

Yay! I hand quilted this afternoon and then got busy and traced out the June and July BOM from pumpkinpatchbc.com so will machine appliqué them if and when during the weekend. Look forward to seeing and hearing how everyone is doing. Thank you for this fun stitching weekend.

I got to quilt on the 4th , so now I'm ready to make the binding and put it on, another project will be finished! After that I can start to audition charm packs for a baby quilt or two.
Haven't slept well in a couple of nights and it's starting to show, so hopefully I'll get a nap in somewhere and get my mojo juices flowing again.

I will be doing homework for an upcoming Christmas in July guild meeting. We will be making 2 Christmas ornaments.
One is to sew a circle using 2 coordinating fabrics. Easy peasy. The other is to cut out 4 Christmas fabric strips: 4" x 14" , also in 2 coordinating fabrics. I don't know why, but I just love guild meetings where we make small projects. I wish everyone a very Happy 4th of July Sewing Weekend!

I finished two welcome signs yesterday. The black and white letters are vinyl I cut using a Cricut. machine. I have been having fun with this new to me technique, decopague. I don't want to start any quilts because I will be starting my daughter's wedding dress soon. So I am working on small projects for now until the dress is done.
Thank you Raggiemom for hosting VQW, even though you are busy with your move and unpacking. Several of us on here can relate having done the same thing over the past few years. Happy quilting everyone, and Happy 4th.

I haven't had much sewing time lately, and I'm not so sure I'll have much this weekend.
I still have borders to finish on the Labyrinth Way project, I want to add an additional top/bottom to make it rectangular and most likely will cut an angle into the existing as-directed dark border -- like how it looks on the cover picture basically. But sometimes cutting "finished" fabric/borders is scary and I have to think about it
I have started cutting my "next" project, returning to scrappy instead of planned. Have all of the lights cut and about half of the darks.
Will be thinking of sewing and checking in, but probably no studio time for me until at least Monday.

July 4th was our 35th anniversary. I had an enjoyable day of puttering. I did a little sewing in my studio since it was a cooler day. I have no AC in my studio so on very hot day it’s miserable to spend much time there. No problem, I can sew in the spare bedroom upstairs and am working on a second orphan block quilt. Yep, I had enough orphans to make not one but two quilts. The first was 62” x 78” and this one will be in the neighborhood of 5o” x 60”. I should be able to finish this afternoon. Since it’s a cooler start this morning, I jump back over to the studio to sew for a while. I’m working on a homespun QAYG quilt there. Have fun everyone and stay cool!
