    Default 2 More Finishes!

The first one is a gift for a friend. The pattern is Ohio Stars and Courthouse Steps. The pattern was supposed to repeat for the whole quilt, but I swapped out some of the stars for panel pieces that I framed so they would fit in the spaces. I can't wait to gift it to her next week.

Rising Stars is my other finish. I drafted the pattern myself and was really easy to make. I can see myself making this one again when I need a baby quilt for someone. As it is, this one is going in the closet for when I do need a baby quilt. The pattern came about all because I wanted to use the brown bear flannel remnant that I had, but I really want to make it again with rainbow colors. I doodled it out one day like that after already starting it and now I really want to make it that way. Or in blue and reds for a patriotic quilt that I somehow have still not made. Oh the possibilities!!

Two thumbs up for getting not one but two quilts finished. I like each one as much as the other. Well done.

Genius to swap out some of the star blocks for the panel pieces! I just love that idea! Your friend is so lucky to have such a talented friend as you!
Rising Stars is a beautiful name for a baby quilt! You put your brown flannel to good use and now you are dreaming of other color palates. Can't wait to see the next lovely quilt!

Two great quilts. I especially like the baby quilt. Very sweet.

Great ideas yield great results. I love them both. The panel insertion is a fabulous way to introduce them in a more complicated quilt and the rising star is a great quilt for any color combination. I love that you found a beautiful use of your bear flannel.

Both quilts are beautiful and their recipients will be so happy! I've had the Ohio Stars and Courthouse Steps on my future quilts list for a while, so I'm happy to see your scrappy version with a twist. It gives the design a nice fresh look.

Those are just great! I like the little panels in the "blanks" - as someone who doesn't enjoy the quilting part very much, large open spaces put unwanted pressure on me. They fill up the spaces but aren't so busy that they take away from the rest of the quilt. Nicely done!
