Oh yeah, I had one of my big long threads all ready to go, reorganized it and timed out and lost it.

Short form:
Labor Day is the first Monday of September, and happens to be the day I was born. The date changes but I always have a holiday, so I have the tradition of using the "close enough" days for my birthday.
Today I am going to see one of my favorite artists, ZZ Ward. It is a shame she isn't better known but I guess her competition was Adele and Amy Winehouse and is sort of like playing golf in the Tiger Woods years, sure you were there, but who knew?? This will be our first time going to this venue, but like the rest of the town, is maybe 20 minutes away from home.
Here's the line up with links to selected songs by the musicians.

We have the deluxe pass so can go in and out, I'd like to see some of the other artists, especially Buckwheat Zydeco, but ZZ is my main draw.
Tomorrow we have steaks for the grill, should do our usual bowling date day Sunday.
Monday there is a small Parade down the main drag near us. As a coincidence to the picture my last job (many years ago now) I did payroll for a Union shop, IBEW 76
We may or may not go, but Raber Packing is always a big draw, is our local butcher shop with a lunch shop and big deli. I am enjoying small town middle America

I'm leaving this morning to go to retreat. Sat-Monday. it's close by so I will be coming home at night. My husband wants to watch sports all weekend. Have a great time at the concert and a wonderful birthday weekend.

Happy Birthday, Iceblossom! Live music is the best! Enjoy! Yesterday, we hit the beach early to beat the crowds and make a few fishing casts. Nice day! No keepers, but thawed out some shrimp for dinner! I spent the afternoon grinding glass for my SG project. (Stained Glass) It is, by far, the messiest part of the process, and my least favorite, but I am almost halfway done grinding! BTW, I am finding it easy to not be drawn into fabric sales when I am not in quilting mode!

For Monday, my sister and I will travel up to see my brother in the nursing home. It's getting harder for us girls to travel a distance anymore but we still try to see our brother at least a couple times a year now. He seems happier at this nursing home that's accedited by the VA. He's getting therapy which he never got from the other nursing home and it costs a lot less for him also. He has MS which is getting worse by the day as he can no longer open his mail any longer, not that he would anyway.
But that's what we'll be doing on Monday and of course we have to stop at the Runza Hut for their Runzas. Yes, this is in Nebraska, I think the only place you can get a Runza unless maybe just over the border into Iowa you may be able to get one.
