    Default International Quilt Festival Houston

Quilt Festival is going to be early this year here in Houston. It's going to be October 9 - 12th. I'm getting excited about it already. Is anyone else planning to attend?

I am! I’m so used to it being a November thing that I kept double-checking to make sure I had the dates right for this year! There must have been a conflicting event in November. I can’t wait!

I know! I'm used to it being end of Oct/beginning of Nov. I have to keep reminding myself its early this year. When we get closer, maybe could plan a meetup.

I was there several years and would love to visit again. But sadly, not this year. Have a wonderful time there.

I am thinking of attending the first day, Thursday, all day. Driving up from Corpus takes less than 4 hours, and my aunt lives on north side, but have not decided if staying overnight. I was just there last month for her 85th birthday!

I usually don't go the first day. I usually go Fri, sometimes Sat and Sun. I love Sunday because it's to laid back and a lot of out of town people leave Sunday so they aren't at the Festival. I like the slower pace plus it's easier to see the quilts because there aren't so many people looking.

Thanks for that explanation. Sunday sounds more like my day. I thought Thursday would be slowest because not really the weekend, but I am going to see quilts, so less crowded is what I seek.

A lot of people come from out of town and they are there for classes and don't stay over. Weekends aren't all that busy. Saturday more than Sunday. A lot of the Saturday traffic is non quilters so the booths aren't too bad.

Darn, I wish I could go. I've only been once.
