    Default New Tote Bag

I went to my first meeting with a new group, The Island Strippers, and, well, we cut strips! Instructions said to bring 4 coordinating fat quarters. We cut each one into a square, then diagonally into 2 triangles, to be matched up and sewn into new squares. We layered 2 of the new squares together and cut strips across. I alternated 1.5" and 2.5", while some made same size widths. Then we used fusible interfacing to "Converge" the strips by laying them out with edges touching on the fusible side before fusing. Then it was easy to fold and sew each seam! I had 2 panels, and I wanted to try to make a tote with foam stablizer, so I did!

That turned out beautifully and I love your color combination. Bet there'll be more in your future.

That's a beautiful bag! Great use of the fabric you started with and the panel you made.

Cute and colorful tote! I love this concept. Can you tell us what size squares you have before making your tote please?

Toogie, I want to say 17" squares before slicing diagonally.

Both right sides up when stacking the two squares. Criss cross the diagonal stitching lines.
here is a close up of the strips as they are unstacked and placed on the interfacing.
