Hello All! Happy December! I'm Gina from California. New to the world of quilting really. Where can I post questions I have regarding this quilt I'm constructing? Thank you.

And we love pictures, but some people have a hard time figuring out posting here. The Help section is for that sort of help should you need it. As bearisgray said, the main forum would be the best place for quilting related questions.

Greetings to all! I joined this forum about a year ago but Life got in the way as it sometimes does. I made 3 comments during my search for introductions. Currently in the frigid Midwest. I'm an RN on the brink of retirement, & run a self-funded cat rescue operation with one of my grown kids. Besides fostering kitties, we trap, neuter, & release. Dogs are welcome, too, but our city seems to have a handle on keeping their population down. To their credit, they really do try to find them homes. But cats...no such luck.
A lot of my quilt & wall hangings are cat-centric. Big Laurel Burch fan. I'm a collector of vintage & antique sewing machines (although I really need to thin the herd - can only use a few machines at a time, not 20!) I've sewn just about anything you can imagine from home dec to Mardi Gras costumes, pageant gowns, upholstery, slip covers, formal wear, cat toys...but my real passion is, & always be, quilt making. Taught by my Swedish grandmother at an early age (& sewing on a treadle), it's been a life-long creative outlet for me to express myself.
My Christmas wish for all here is that all your dreams & wishes come true. As a side note, if you're in a Santa Claus spirit & have too many fabrics & materials on hand, consider making comfort blankets/pads for your local animal shelters. Contact them first, but most would be glad to have them. For caged animals, having something that is "theirs" can calm both dogs & cats. Especially if they get to take them along to (hopefully) their forever homes.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Welcome Kittyboxers, I think your intro got lost being in a different thread but once I saw it I enjoyed the back story!
Glad to see you are posting and happy to have you here.
I moved about 2 years ago and I have been catless for the longest period of my life. Previously 2 years in college dorms was my longest period, and my childhood cat was still alive at my mother's home. On Jan 1 of the year we moved, my cat Tomas passed. We have two smallish dogs who do the best they can but they are not the same cat energy. As much as I have loved all my cats, most living to 14-20+ I have to admit I don't miss the cat box(es) all that much.

Welcome to the Board, Kittyboxers. Yes, I think your into did get lost but know you are most welcome by both kitty lovers and dog passionate folks too. I fall into the "cat"egory of pet owners but I do have a "granddog" that is entrancing and fun to visit.
Please explore around the board topics and enjoy the vast amount of knowledge and friendships shared by our members. Ask questions, we all have answers don't we. And offer your two cents to encourage others. Post photos, and share what you are doing at your machine. (20 Wowzers!)
PS: I save scraps to make dog/cat beds for one of my local shelters already! Caring hearts are at work all around.
