    Default Jazz II and Rulers

I know a 3/16th ruler is the best Can a 1/4” ruler be used if I only use it in the front and sides of the open toe ruler foot

Hi, there… since you havent had a reply to your question yet maybe these thoughts might be generally helpful.

I am not familiar with your machine, but assuming it might be a midarm/sitdown or smaller longarm machine of some type? Not being familiar with your machine, i think its ALWAYS advisable to use the rulers as the manufacturer specifies to avoid accidental damage to the machine you obviously paid good money for. Thats just my suggestion. Most machines that allow you to do ruler work also require the use of some kind of ruler foot whether that might have come standard with the machine or is a special option. Some machines might also require a ruler base to accomplish ruler work although not all of them do.

As a frame of reference, i have a Nolting sitdown/midarm machine. A ruler base is not needed, but a ruler foot is. I use the recommended rulers because they are different from other rulers i have. Because rulers are an expense, i tend to buy new ones on an “as needed” basis.

At any rate, thats my two cents! Hope you are enjoying your machine!

did you check through the youtube videos for your machine? This one is for the Jazz but might give you some advice. My machine is a low shank Sapphire and requires the thinner rulers as well.

The Jazz 2 is a domestic sewing machine, not a longarm.

The Jazz II by Babylock.is a mechanical sit down dosmestic machine with 12 inch throat space that can do FMQ. It's low shank that recommends 3/16th rulers. I've tried the 1/8" thickness and do not like them. I'm hoping the 1/4" ruler will work as a only sew in the front or the sides of the ruler foot
