    Default Virtual Quilting Weekend--2/13-2/16/26

Another VQW has arrived! If you didn't finish what you were working on Super Bowl Sunday, here is an opportunity to get it done. I hope to get a couple tops quilted this weekend but I do have to pull tax information and I'm not sure how long that will take. What are you working on this weekend?

We did take KitKat to the vet Monday. $636 later, the vet thinks it was a hairball that wasn't moving. So we came home with some medicine which "should move things along" according to the vet. She certainly seems to feel better. She has been attacking one of the other cats multiple times a day!

Next VQW will be March 13-15. I will actually at a quilt retreat that weekend

I'll be in sewing or quilting on something, just not sure what yet. It's been a busy week with my husband having cataract surgery and then a post op appointment, a dental appointment and the adoption of a 9 year old toothless cat. I need something calming to work on. Looked at patterns and fabric yesterday and couldn't decide on anything, I'm sure that the new cat will want to help, maybe I'll let her decide.

I will be participating and may get some practice FMQ today. Sunday will really be the only day I can truly get some quilting in. My orchestra has a concert on Saturday so I'll be at a dress rehearsal all morning, then only have a few hours before I have to go back for the performance. It is a 40 min trip (one-way) for me. I have started a quick lap quilt. I have all the blocks sewn and laid out, just need to sew them into rows then I can assemble the top. I plan on using my mini frame for FMQ on this quilt.

I want to take on one baby quilt from layering to quilting to adding the binding. There is a second quilt waiting the the wings should I get the baby quilt finished and ready for gifting.

Yea, I need to gather Income Tax materials also, just like Raggiemom!

Happy quilting everyone. May your weekend be productive beyond what you expected.

I didn't get very far during Super Bowl Sunday VQW. My SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) kicked in hard and I mentally crashed. If you are unfamiliar with SAD, it can seem a minor issue. But I can go down a dark hole and get some really dark thoughts and images in my head. My husband who does a wonderful job of looking after me when I'm well is extra vigilant when I'm having a SAD episode. While not completely back to my normal cheerful self, I am doing much better today. I hope to be able to sew a little this weekend. Good luck with your concert sschick. I hope it goes well. And LRJARN52: what a lucky kitty to have you for it's family. Best wishes to your hubby's surgery.

I have binding to attach to a 40 x 60 " spring quilt, and I have another compassion quilt for church to load, quilt, trim attach binding before handing it off to my friend who completes the binding. If I'm real diligent, I may have some more floating star blocks done for a QOV. I can always pick up and put away things in my sewing room!

Well today is shopping with my sister so nothing done today unless her nail appt is a double, then I have about 1.5-2 hrs to continue quilting my top. I'm down to the last 6 blocks and I've already got all the border done. If she has only a single nail appt, then I'll water my plants out in the garage and finish the quilting tomorrow. If time, I'll trim it and glue the binding onto it so it's ready to be stitched down on Monday. Already have another quilt top in line to go onto the quilt frame....Exploding Hearts as I want to ge tit finished for a quilt auction for our thrift store here in town. It's in April.

I will get home this weekend from my visit but am doubting I'll be doing any sewing

But today is Friday the 13th, and because it is February, we have another one in March. Just noting the dates. Hope you are all doing well and good sewing!

I am finishing the blocks for a new pixel quilt. I am using 1/4 (more or less) of an ocean wave CS project. The finished quilt dimensions are preventing me from including the entire sun, so I have to decide where to end it. I included a pic of my cross stitch for the full view. Which cropping do you like? Please vote: A, B, or C.

I'm in. I am teaching a friend of mine how to use my longarm with Prostitcher. We didn't get it finished before she had surgery yesterday so I'm going to finish it, trim, and cut the binding. Have others things going on this weekend but if I get it done then I'll work on one of my projects. Just need to decide.
