    Default Ombre Diamond Quilt Finshed

I've already put this quilt over onto the UFO thread but wanted those who don't view that thread to see my finished quilt for February. This makes #2 for the year. It's called Ombre Diamond, I made the Ombre Star pattern also in bed size, this one is 76 x 76 what I call oversized lap quilt. These both will go into my spare bedroom along with pillow shams and throw pillows using the same ombre and purple/black checked backing fabrics. Custom Quilted by me after I finally got my motor wheels synced, I use robotics in my quilting.

What a striking quilt! I have often seen ombre fabrics but can never quite imagine how they could be used to maximize the effect. This certainly fits the bill! :-)

That ombre diamond is stunning. I love the peekaboos of the blue in it. They are both fantastic quilts with beautiful colors. Your picture of the ombre fabric with the bright strip in the middle looks like a portal to another dimension..... Your guest will be sleeping with beauty.

Love your quilts! Can you point me to a video that would help me make something similar. I cannot figure out the fabulousness of making the quilts by the picture. Just stunning!

The quilts look like a painting to me, rather than fabric. So beautiful!

Aashley333, it's a pattern by Hunter's Design StudioOne On made especially for ombre fabrics. The instructions show you depending on which style of ombre fabric you have, on how to cut. You cut the strips in 10" pieces from selvege to selvege and for me, I cut each strip in half at the fold, then cut each into 10" pieces and so on. It's a lot simpler than it looks plus I bought whatever was leftover from the bolt back then so was able to make pleated pillow shams to go with the quilts. The section I cut off from the shams was used for the throw pillows just adding a little bit of the wild color to them.

Now a days, I don't find this specifc ombre style fabric though.
