Applique would be fine, one other member is doing an applique too.

Just want to make sure. The block will be 12" finished in a quilt, but 12 1/2 when we complete it and it isn't put in a quilt yet, right?

Hi, Sandi - just wanted to let you know that I mailed my first 6 blocks out to you today. Hope they find their way "over the river and through the woods." Thanks again for taking this on.

Me too! As a nurse I have cared for many mastectomy patients, and I worked on a cancer floor for 3 years. Each of those patients made a strong impression on my life. I am honored to be able to do this.

What great inspiration. Bless you for touching of each of their lives in such a caring way. My sister-in-law was diagnosed at age 39 but thankfully is now a healthy survivor. I work in a physician's office (administration, not patient care) and know how important preventive care is. I am hoping to honor the womens center at our local hospital for the service they give.

I am so glad that you SIL is doing well. You have a tough job, doctors office administration can be really hard!

I have been giving a lot of thought of how to best use the completed quilt. I have never done anything like this before. I know that there are a lot of relay for life events, and that Breast Cancer Awareness month is October. If anyone had experience in this, I could use some guidance.
Thanks in advance.

Actually, I am thinking of making two wallhangings instead of one quilt.
