I was looking for a new challenge and thought that my next quilt I would add a feather star block. I was wondering if anyone had any special tips before I start. I think my colors will be purple, dark green, light green, and blue.

I have to finish my current quilt but hopefully I will be done next weekend.

I LOVE feathered stars. I found a pattern in a magazine and made one trial block. For me, it's just a matter of slowing myself down and that seems to help. HAVE FUN!

I just posted the design under "pictures". I will just need to figure out the order of how to assemble the block once the pieces are cut out.

I use the square method of making flying geese blocks so wind up with small triangles - so I've been sewing them and keeping them in a box - so someday I'll have a whole mess of half-square triangle blocks already done for some project!

I have always loved that pattern. Someday when I get brave I'll try it.
