I pieced a Buckeye Beauty Quilt for our local Christmas Cotillion silent auction (benefits our local Hospital Cancer Center) but I couldn't get my new mid armed quilting maching to work (think it could have been operating error  and I was running out of time before the event. I had pieced this Lone Star quilt earlier in the year at a quilt class and gave it as my silent auction donation, it brought in several hundred dollars towards the cause :!: The black "centerpiece" is Leo, our kitty.....this was my first attempt at the Lone Star pattern, it was alot of fun.

Love it! Does anyone else notice that a whole lot of us have black cats?

Beautiful quilt. Beautiful cat. Nice job. I'll bet you hated to part with it, even for a good cause.

Here is a close up of the fabric, all the points don't match - but it went fairly fast. We had a wonderful instructor in our class.

Awesome! :)

Sadly I have become allergic to cats. I used to have black cats named Midnight and Darknight.

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. Yes, Leo has long hair and YELLOW eyes. Kind of creepy when he peers out from a dark doorway or closet. We also have his brother, Slim, who has short black hair and Yellow eyes. They keep me in stitches (pun intended). And they both my quilt inspectors.
