Cleaning out some old papers, found this which I saved long ago
Still makes me smile.
Quilts and Friends
Whenever I wrap myself in a quilt
I think of a special friend
One who thought to pick up the scraps of my dreams that had
crashed in the end...
A friend who thought nothing of taking the time---
Though I knew how much time it would take---
To rummage through haystacks for needles I'd lost
And thread them again for love's sake.
Quilts are like friends, for the older they get,
You realize they're worth more than gold.
And I'll sell all I have, but I'll keep friends and quilts--
All I need to keep warm when I'm old.
Still makes me smile.
