I am new to this, so I hope I am doing it right. Has anyone made this quilt? I have one to quilt, it is beautiful, and would like some ideas.

Is there a picture?

I just looked it up, WOW, that is an ambitious project! Please be sure and post a pic when you are done or even as you go along!

WOW!!! That is a beautiful pattern!!! :D:D:D
I would be tempted to do an all over, larger motif. Nothing to complicated to take away from the pattern.

Oh wow....I'd have to really think about it, the quilt is fantastic...I'd hate to take away from the piecing, it is so spectacular!

Definitely a simple stitch in the ditch will do. You don't want to take away from the pattern.

Thank you so much for posting a picture of the pattern. I wasn't sure how to do that.

I think that if I did anything other than SID...which I would do around and through all of the "stars"...I would maybe...maybe...maybe consider doing a feather motif in the areas around the border on the outside of the "stars". Something to separate the stars from the background surrounding it. but...thats just a thought. I'd have to audition the quilting, thats for sure. If you don't have EQ or something where you can do that....get some of those plastic sheet protectors and a dry erase pen...lay it down on the quilt and doodle away....

In my avatar quilt, my quilter did McTavish(sp?)quilting all around the points of the NY Beauty blocks. It looks awesome!
