Each of the little tulips is sewn down by machine.
Could you tell us what size this tulip quilt is?? Did you use a software program to convert the photo to the quilt?? I know you must have had a ball doing this!! It's fantastic.

When I made this, I didn't keep records of the size or close-up photos, so I don't have those. I think the size is about 4 feet by 3 feet. I don't use photo editing for some of my quilts. I enlarge the photo to paper size, and measure the parts, and then use math to figure out what I want the new proportions to be based on the quilt size I want. For example, if I measure the photo and the horizon is 4 inches up, then I use ratios to figure out how high it would be on the new quilt.
I appreciate all of the nice comments I've received!
By the time this quilt was finished, I was sick of looking at it and all of the tiny pieces!

Judy,
Your quilt is amazing!!!I am intrigued by the sky...is that one piece of fabric? If not you did a fantastic job making it look that way. I plan to do some art quilts soon so any hints are appreciated! :D

The sky is one piece of fabric. The skies of the Skagit Valley are grey like that most of the time, and this was the most realistic fabric I could find. It is not even a hand-dyed fabric. I glued all the little pieces down with a regular glue stick before I stitched them. I've added a picture of the photo I used as a guide.

This is the original photo taken by Dr. Eisner

Beautiful landscape, I haven't made anything like that yet, but it is on my list. Beautiful dog too, Goldens are my favourite, I have 3 darlings.
