My husband and I are traveling from on I81 from nothern Va to Knoxville, TN and then west to Nashville. We are leaving on Tuesday. Can anyone recommend some quilt shops along the way? I would love to know about Walmarts with fabric as well. Thanks, Jayne

There is a thread that has walmarts that have fabric. If you know the towns you will be going through you can try and pick them out from that

Here is the thread

Somewhere Sewing in Johnson City, about 10 miles off I 81. Also Tennessee Quilts in Jonesborough. Both a are super. In Knoxville and area:
Mammaw;s Thimble
Iva's in Sevierville
Cherry Pit in Sevierville
Pappy's in Maryville.
They are all easy to find. Mammaw's is the hardest to find, but it is just a mile or two off the Interstate. The others have websites with directions. Have a great time. Wish I was home, I would welcome you and take you shopping!

I drive this route every year and LOVE to stop at Batiks Etc. in Wytheville, VA (between Brisol and Roanoake). www.batiks.com

And if you get tired of driving on I-81, swing over to US 29 to Madison, VA (north of Charlottesville)and check out That Little Quilt Shop. http://www.thatlittlequiltshop.com/

AS you come nearer to Nashville there is Country Store Quilt Shop off of I-40 at the State Road 70 exit going toward Watertown and Lebanon Sew and Vac has just opened a large Fabric department that has a great variety of fabrics. It is in Lebanon Tenn where you can also stop for a meal at the original Cracker Barrel.
