Definitely having a sewing room helps. If you have too big of a mess in there you can just shut the door. When I'm ready to sew, it's ready for me. I work 40 hrs. a week, go home most days and cook dinner for DH and me. I also do the laundry and go to the grocery store. We also have an RV and boat so we usually spent about every other weekend at the lake from April thru September. We have a cleaning lady come in every other week. That will stop when I retire. DH does everything outside. I sew in the evenings if I'm not too tired and I can walk on past the computer (this site is addicting). I cherish my Saturdays when we are at home and have nothing special to do because I can stay in my sewing room all day until it's time to go out to dinner (I quit cooking on weekends). When I was young and had my two girls at home I was so organized, anal about it if the truth be known, so that I could have a little "me" time to sew, crochet, read, embroider, whatever most evenings.
