Nice site, although the one quilt shop they showed for my area closed down years ago, so the site hasn't been updated recently.

always call the shop first as I also have noticed some shops are closed up and also others change hours

I live in Oklahoma so I did the search on OK. Most of the stores that came up have gone out of business and new ones have taken their place. Before making and trip better call ahead to make sure the quilt store is still in business.

Quilt shops come and go so often, this is even a problem with a local yellow pages. I recently got the new edition of the Quilter's Travel Companion and I like that really well. I keep it in my car with me. However, I ALWAYS call ahead when visiting a new quilt shop just to be sure they actually are in business and that they are at the address I think they are at.

I started a new blog recently. My husband and I travel some, and so I'm blogging about the quilt shops I visit. Only five so far, but I hope for hundreds (thousands) more!

According to this map, there are no quilters anywhere but the US. How sad.
