The lady that commissioned it is a police officer that wants a quilt for her inlaws! I am really excited because normally I just make the quilts and give them away or auction them off. This time she is picking the pattern and fabric and all the good stuff. I am really excited and scared at the same time. My question for you is the inlaws are Norweigan and she wants me to include the flag into the quilt and a patriotic theme. She likes the attic window block, which is good. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Norweigen block or have any idea how I could incorporate something other than the flag into the quilt. So if you have any ideas or can point me in the right direction I would be so very grateful!!!

Congrats! That is exciting. Sorry, I don't have any advice for you on the Norweigen stuff except to google it and see what comes up.

Check out Quilters Cache. It doesn't have "Norway Pine" listed, but it may be listed another way. I didn't go through the entire alphabet. There is a Norway Pine block, and here is a tute on how to do it. Good luck and be sure and post the finished quilt. Oh, and Congratulations!!

How exciting for you. Perhaps you can print the flag on the label.

Here is a webpage with a bunch of Norse symbols. Perhaps you could incorporate them into the quilting motif and make a few blocks.

Norwegian Knot quilt pattern is pretty awesome. Don't know of a free pattern but here is one that can be bought for $4.95. You may even be able to look at the pic and make up your own pattern.
