Hubby and I LOVE to kayak!! We try to go every Sunday--weather permitting. I have a smaller kayak I use when I go alone during the week (I have July and August off); I can't get my nice one on top of the very tall van.

My son just taught me how to send cell phone pix to my email, so finally I can do something with these pix!!

Note--it's not always this calm when we go. Three weeks ago we were on Canandaigua Lake. The winds were about 5 mph when we decided to paddle across--which we rarely do on that lake--just too boat busy. Once we were about 1/3 of the way across, the winds suddenly gusted to 25 mph!! We kept going amid white caps--two foot waves!! The lake's personality changed in a hurry! We fought our way to the other side, and I prayed steadily on the way back. The last 1/2 mile took us 45 minutes--going against the wind. When we finally reached the launch area, my hands were cramped from gripping the paddle. Sheesh. No wonder there weren't many other boats out there. Good thing I didn't take my camera--we were soaked head to toe. Mark's kayak has a more open cockpit--he drained at least 2 quarts of water from his boat afterwards.

One of my favorite shots.

Hmm--well, maybe this one is my favorite. ;-)

Ahhhhhhh....so relaxing.

Hemlock Lake are all the rest. Look how calm the water was yesterday!

Canadice Lake last week.

I know most of these are of Mark, but he's easy on the eye. ;-)

Beautiful. I felt my blood pressure drop after looking at these, not that I have high blood pressure or anything.

Those are some awesome photos. I really like the one with the tip of your kayak in it, too. We pontoon alot and I love that-it's relaxing too and no paddling required! Thanks for sharing your pics.

We just upgraded our cell phones and I was shocked at how nicely these came out!

Oh--I'd much rather paddle than sit! :-D

Oh now I'm homesick. Growing up my grandparents lived on Chatauqua Lake and we spent time there every summer. It's always been my favorite place to be.

Oh, I envy you the pleasure. I have always wanted to kayak for the simple serenity of it; but don't know how to swim so am scared to even try. I grew up with a mom who didn't let us go above our knees in the water, now I have too much fear to try to swim. My youngest son has a pool and I only stay in the shallow end even though I love the water. Fear comes over me once I know that the water is deeper than I am tall. I hope you and hubby continue to enjoy your hobby for many years to come. Are there any loons on the lake for your enjoyment?

Karla, we just bought a kayak to see if we'd like it. LOVE it! the small lake we'll be in is a no motor vehicle one, and then there's a lot of saltwater marshes we plan to explore, we'll be fishing. Next month that is when we can buy thre other one.
