Someone asked for a larger picture of my avatar quilt. Here it is again, I had posted it before and I can find it under pictures when I look but I have not been able to link to it. When I looked for it I saw that there were a lot of nice comments and questions that for some reason I had never seen. I don't know what was going on in my life that I never saw them.
To answer some of the questions.....
It is my own design that just evolved when I was going to make a pink/red and green quilt. I made 9 patch blocks with a colorwash plan in mind. The branch and leaves are machine applique. I cut most of the leaves from a piece of fabric with the leaves printed on it. I found the border fabric almost by accident, I saw it at a meeting where there were vendors. I wasn't really looking for border fabric when I saw it and I was pretty sure it would be right and it was.
this quilt used to hang over my bed but I have recently given it to my daughter when I decided there were too many quilts living out of sight in my closet. I gave away 20+ quilts to my daughter and daughter in law.

This is very very pretty. It is very artsy, which I love.
That was very sweet of you to give your quilts a new home. I bet it was hard to part with them.

I love the way you did the tree branch! It's as if it was saying come this way. Very nice!
