I love the tube ruler too. Here is a picture of the table runner I made using this ruler.

So what did you do.. cut the strips narrow or just added a third one...

If you are asking about my table runner, right off the bat I can't remember if the pattern was with the ruler or if I got it at our quilt club. Let me look and I will get back to you. There are several ways to use this ruler and I just made a 3 strip set to cut.

Okay I found the youtube video that I used to create my table runner. here is the url:

but I don't remember how wide I cut my background fabric, but my 3 strip set to place on top of the background fabric was equal to the size of the background strip. I hope this makes sense after you watch the video. Also the setting around each block I just made up as I went along, I did not per say have a pattern. I hope this helps.
