Two good things about this morning, I got one quilt top finished, and another started...then my kids woke up.
How can two little children throw tantrums at the same time before anything happens to instigate one? I don't understand. Is this in the parenting manual?
Well, I got them calmed down, dressed, fed, and ready to go to the grocery store.
After not driving my car for over a week, I forgot about checking the tires to see if more air was needed. (We've had a slow bead leak for a couple weeks now.) Well, I haven't driven it for a while, and forgot to check it.
About 15 feet down our alley, I remembered. The *clunk, clunk, clunk* of the wheel reminded me.
Agitated and disappointed, I backed up. The steering was screwy because I didn't have a pumped up wheel. I ended up skinning the side of the car on a retaining wall made of railroad ties.
By the time I got back into our parking stall, the tire was off the rim, and the rim was on the concrete.
My hubbie is off deer hunting this weekend, and I know he is not going to be happy.
My cousin helped me jack up the car so there isn't so much pressure on the rim in hopes that we can save it. But, I'm pretty sure we're going to need a new rim and probably 2 tires since you can't *just buy 1*.
I guess I've got the groceries put away, and I'm on my way to put the kids down for their naps.

Sorry for all your trouble, but things like this just seem to happen. I'm sure your husband will understand. When do you get to take a weekend off from the family???? Sounds like you need one. Hope things get better.

Bummer, point out to hubby, while he was looking to skin a deer, you took care of the car, and tire, and rim, and kids, looks like an even trade to me. and Good Luck!! :)

Somehow I'm hearing a good attitude in spite of all this.
Hope tomorrow is better for you :)

find a place that sell used tires, they will let you buy one and it will be a lot cheaper than a set of 2 new.
