My group meets on Saturday mornings and quilts and shares. This is my circle, the guest of honor is Merle. We made her this friendship star quilt to envelope her in love and prayers while she battles breast cancer. All of us are beginner quilters but we don't care.Merle is shown holding her quilt.

Now, THAT is a cheerful quilt!!!! I'm sure she will treasure it, knowing that her good friends are thinking of her while she's undergoing her treatment. When I give a quilt as a gift I always tell the person "Every time you use this, think of me hugging you!"

The label in back says quilted with love and prayers.

    She loves color and angels.
All the little dolls you see in the background are angels of all ethnicities.
Words on the quilt are loving, caring, praying, searching, healing.

The back is the angel fabric in a whole piece.

The inside border is the scraps of the stars.
We sent one square to her mother in law, who returned it from Detroit.
We are missing her picture, and another quilter (who was holding the camera.)

    Thanks for your kind comments.

What a great group you have there Purple!! Its so nice to give that support to Merle, tell her that we know she will beat the cancer when wrapped in all the hugs from that quilt. There are some great facilities in Memphis to deal with it..so I know she will have some real professionals on her side.

I lived in Memphis for 30 yrs. before DH & I retired to Middleton about 6 yrs. ago. Its about 60 mi. E. or halfway between Memphis & Pickwick.
