You may like this as well. the pin cushion is 3 x 3 x 2 inch deep
filled with silica sand (found at Michael's) (separate bag to hold the silica sand then cover sewed over that bag, and a scrap bag attached with a couple of straps to the pin cushinon, that bag hangs over the edge of sewing table. The top of the bag, has a pocket, that holds tye strapping from WalMart, and I got the tye strapping for free, (it comes wrapped around their packages or you could get it from any Home Depot or such). I just use a small plastic bag inside the scrap bag, makes for easier cleaning, then when it gets full just toss it out, and get a new one. I can take it to class, the pin cushion fits inside the garbage bag, so I don't worry about losing any of the pins, etc..

I made one similiar to this one, but before binding it I put 2 rows of fabric across with the back row about an inch taller. You can then sew the pockets vertically to fit whatever you have..pencils...scissors..etc. then you have double the pockets.

Have a pattern to make one but I haven't had the time to start on it..... You did a GREAT job !!!
