I appliqued these blocks several years ago and then discovered I couldn't get a needle through them to embroider flowers for the little kids to hold. I just used a decorative stitch on my machine and say they are holding sprigs of rosemary.

I knew I'd never get such a large piece quilted so I serged the blocks to sashing, added cording and a back to make a duvet cover.

Love it, I also need a duvet cover and have been looking into patterns.Did you put anything between the top and the back, I worry about the seams on the top getting worn from the inside?

I didn't because I didn't have any raw edges. The seams were all serged and the blocks were appliqued on a full size block of white. I may use this idea again, but if I have pieced blocks I will use a backing.
