Staggered geese made me think of geese that had gotten into a bad batch of grain.

There is a wall sized pattern with staggered (but still sober) geese section of the wall hanging. It is at Fat Quarter Shop: Bean Counter quilts by Lorrie Franz :Animal Tracks. I thought you would simply made lop sided geese but drawings provided here might be easier.

Thanks for posting this! I was recently trying to figure out the way I would piece this without PP and appreciate your graphs. Here's a little mini with the SFG. :D

I got my first four finished. I made the geese square 1/2 inch larger and it works perfectly, leaving the quarter inch seam allowance at the sides. I started with a five inch square for the geese and two 4 1/2 in squares for the backgrounds. It was fun to see that come out. Rather than copy the whole pattern on the printer, I only copied 5 pages. I ran from the computer to the sewing room (and the laundry room to iron) a few times. Now I have the directions and a sample.
