My 3 1/2 year old grandson will have his tonsils and adenoids out on Wednesday, 2/16. My other grandson will turn three a few days later and will have his party on Saturday, 2/19. Those of you who have recent experience with this... what are the chances - if any! - that the Tonsil Boy will be able to go to the party?

Very good chance. My GD's were up and out two days later. They didn't let anything stop them!

Wow, I'm amazed, both my grands spent a week in hospital, though they were older, around 8.

Baring any complications, he will be there, ready to eat and play. My grandson had his out a few years ago, he was up and running in a couple days.

This is sounding good. I know he'll have an overnight stay. The PROBLEM is that I take care of him while my son is at work and he'll be working during the party. None of this was supposed to turn out like this - scheduling nightmare with everyone closely involved! If I have to stay home with Tonsil Boy then I'd be missing Birthday Boy's party. So ... I'll stop fretting over it. Worst case senario - my husband can come a bit late to the party and bring the tonsil one with him. Then everyone's there except the uncle, just not there all the time.

Worked in Dr's office 20 years. In three days he will be doing great!!!! He may just have to be careful what he eats. Ask your Dr.

He will definitely be ready for icecream, probably the cake too.
That young, they bounce back quick. I had mine out at 14 and was only down for 3 days... I was out camping on day 6 LOL :D:D:D

It's a morning party and my daughter is serving breakfast food. We can pick up a shake if necessary. I feel so much better! My kids are great, but once in a blue moon I feel like I get put in a situation where I have to choose who has the greater need and ... don't like it at all. My son was even going to take off work and keep him at home, but then he misses his cousin's party - and he'd know something was up if he wasn't with me - and the other would know when we showed up without him.
