My husband is very...accepting, of my quilting and the many purchases associated with it. I won't say "understanding" because he doesn't. But he accepts it and supports it. Even still, we talk about purchases. If either of us is planning to spend $150+ for a "luxury" item, anything outside of bills and necessities, we just mention it. Not to get permission, but to make sure the other is aware of where the money went.

Well hubby has been out of the country for the last month+. He was in NC doing a military exercise and he just came home tonight. While he was there, he bought a new rucsack and got two new tattoos. He came in all apologetic, sorry I didn't talk to you about it type stuff. My response??

"Does it make you feel better if I tell you I bought an antique sewing machine while you were gone?" A purchase I didn't tell him about because he couldn't call. lol I bought a featherweight. It will be here later this week. :D Hubby feels better about his spending now. hahaha

He was at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne. He's Canadian Airborne. :) They did a huge joint exercise together.

When my husband and I run errands I always try to swing him past the home improvements store before I ask him if we can swing by a quilt store. <grin>
