I thought I would share some pictures and information about our quilting club. Our building which was built in 1937 was a country school. The school consolidated with a town school. Some very thoughtful women started a quilting club in order to keep the building, the stipulation of the owner was that it be used and not left vacant. The building is now our community center. This club was started in 1957 and has been going on ever since. We have a wonderful time quilting for people and the money we make helps to pay our bills. As you can see we eat very well on quilting day too and we usually have visitors to share our lunch with. I am the one standing on the left.

What a great story. Thanks for sharing it. I love that quilt, too. My bee used to be a hand-quilting group, but as time passed, that dropped by the wayside. I miss sitting around the frame, though I was just getting to the point I could make even stitches!

That's so great. I'm a bit jealous! It's a great story, a great space and you all look so happy. The quilt you are working on is gorgeous. Food is looking pretty good too! What time should I be there?
