In the thread above ^^^ seebeit42 gave the website for the Quilt Index.

When I went to check it out, this quilt was on the front page.

If you look at it closely, it is made ENTIRELY of embroidered names. No piecing (except for the individual background blocks) - just the names. And in the middle is a FAB-U-LOUS line drawing of the Jasper County Courthouse. What a great piece of history. They have a list of all of the names that are on the quilt (even the "border" is names written on a 45* angle.

Simply amazing. I just had to share.

I am so, so glad that you shared it with us. I grew up in the Carthage area and spent many a Saturday playing on the lawn of the Courthouse. Awesome quilt.

It is very cool. Kudos to all the ladies that spent time on that and the fact that it is still appreciated.
