Morse Lightweight Joining the Herd
Like so many of you I really wasn't planning to add a new girl to my vintage herd but....
yeah!
Here's the link on my Facebook page if it works
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater
The top part is covered with a greasy dirt but the underside is surprisingly clean!
She came with a bobbin case and 3 different kinds of bobbins...I think I have figured out which one(s) work but won't know until she is cleaned and the wiring is inspected by the hubster who is out of town right now.
I wish she came with the cool cover but who knows maybe I will find one and also some accessories one day.
Thanks for looking
Cathie

OK, hope this works. I emailed it to myself and then uploaded it from my computer.
I would love to know more about this machine.
I need an owner's manual and a top for the case for sure but I am lucky that it has a bobbin case that seems to be correct for the machine.

Hi Cathie.
You should like your Morse. They're good machines. It should take Class 15 bobbins and a standard bobbin case should work on it (like the Class 15 Singers). If the wiring is bad you can get cord sets from Sew-Classic--probably like this one: http://shop.sew-classic.com/Cord-Set...143-SCE143.htm
Morse was an importer. Here's some information on the company: http://needlebar.org/nbwiki/index.php/Morse
There's a thread here at QB with Japanese machines and there's also a yahoo group called vintagejapansewingmachines with more pictures and some manuals. However, any Class 15 (zigzag?) manual will likely cover your machine pretty well. They're good, strong machines.
Enjoy.

Edited to add: Here's what the company is making now: http://www.morsesew.com/

Nice looking machine. Is the lightweight a 3/4 size machine or made from aluminum or both?
The new Morse walking foot doesn't look bad but Morse really needs a better translator or proofreader for their website. Their write-up was just annoying due to all the errors. Normally I'm not picky about grammar but as a business they should maintain a higher standard.
