Unhappy Question on EQ7

I have put two blocks in my sketchbook that I would like to put together on the same quilt. (alternating the blocks) when I go to my work table and click on the set block icon my sketch book does not show up .. Can someone tell me why or what I'm doing wrong. I have signed up for the class starting tomorrow that someone posted about here. I haven't been in my sew room for 3 weeks and I'm having withdrawals so I would like to start on a new quilt..
Thanks
God Bless
Loretta

Check in your Cookbook for the chapter SETTING BLOCKS INTO QUILT LAYOUT. I have EQ5 but I think the basics are still the same. You might want to check at the bottom of the screen. In order to set blocks, you must be in the LAYER tab and not the Layout or Border tab. A small pop up called blocks will appear.. You can always send our EQ expert Rhonda a PM. You can find her icon in the Quilt Competition section located just under the MAIN section. Good luck with the class.

I'm not Rhonda and not sure I can help you, but..... Can you see the blocks when you go to view Sketchbook? If not, then they aren't saved so that you can use them. If yes, then, I hope Rhonda sees this post, because I can't think of why, if you are on Layer 1 and click on the "Set Block" that you wouldn't be able to see your blocks unless it could be your quilt style. Try, Quilt, New quilt and change the style to Horizontal. This is the simplest of quilts to me. Hope something in this helps you.

FYI... I met the guy who designed EQ last year at the 2013 International Quilt Festival in Houston. He was astonished that I would have questions and NOT call his support team. He told me that is why we pay them. This is direct from the EQ website....

Good luck...EQ is such a fun, exasperating program. I love it and hate it all in a few minutes...more love than hate these days, because I am learning more & more. You'll get there too.

Oh Barb, it is nice to hear I'm not the only one. Love/hate/love/hate/love. So exasperating. But I am determined this time and doing the sew along also that starts tomorrow. Even I can do one block every 2 weeks. I hope.

I totally agree! I've emailed Electric Quilt and I've also posted questions on their forum. Their assistance is fabulous!

Just as a side note you might want to restart your computer to see if it fixes the problem. If you are using a project from your old computer the sketchbook might have an image of a block that is not linked to what you have installed on your new computer. I just moved a lot of EQ stuff from my old computer to my new one and have found that making everything work is a challenge.

"Set blocks" should show the blocks in your sketchbook for that project. Is the actual drawing of the block there and not the coloring that you want? Sometimes I add more than one coloring - if that is the case - you can right click on the drawing and choose Select coloring from the pop up. Your block should be there (hopefully - lol).

I have never had a block in the sketchbook not show up in Set blocks. If it is still not there - your question is probably above my pay grade!! I agree with Auntie V - restart your computer and see if that helps. OR ... Maybe Rhonda will chime in here. If not, head over to the EQ forum.
