Default Canadian Quilter's

Just wanted to share my latest score at The Superstore.I got a package of 30, Dr. Beckmann Colour & Dirt Collector ( made in Germany). Reg. price $5.99 with 50% off. So I bought 2 pkgs. for a total of $5.99. Never heard of these before, I'm hoping they will be the same as the Shout colour catchers. Has anyone tried these.

Can't find Shout Color Catchers here anymore but have used Dr Beckmann's. They work just as well. I reuse them till they are dark.

I usually stock up on Shout colour catchers when in Buffalo. I am going to the Superstore today- just might check these out.

I use the Dr. Beckmann they work great. I have no idea what price I paid for them, I just buy them at the grocery store along with the rest of my things. (just used one when washing our camping quilt...it's been washed before but the catcher still came out purple, so it did it's job!)

I buy Beckmann's when I can get them on sale and they seem to work as well as color catchers, but when I'm in Florida, if I see color catchers on sale, I will stock up on them because the deals are usually better.

having said all that, I've never re-used either. Does that actually work?

Yes, it does. I, too, use mine several times. I'm always amazed.

I've used the Dr. Beckmann's for a couple of years now ... and swear by them!
I've been buying them at Metro or Sobeys. With the 50% off pricing, I hope that is not a sign that they are going the way of the Colour Catches in Canada. Maybe we should all stockpile?

My routine now is a Dr. B in every load of new fabric.
Surprises abound ... sometimes fabrics I expect to bleed do not, and sometimes ones that I'd never expect to bleed, do. I will re-wash any suspects and if in the second wash the same happens .... then Retayne them!

For anyone wanting a visual, here's an earlier thread with a photo of the packaging.
