Default Thank you for the Pennsylvania recommendations!!

On a road trip on our way to Hershey, we only had time to stop at Zook's and The Old Country Store, which was across the street from Zook's. The nice lady in Zook's said they were set to close in 15 minutes, so I did some serious power shopping!! I had a friend with me and she just kept taking the bolts up to have the fabric cut. The first time she went up she said "She wants a pound of this". The woman said, "You don't sew, do you?" Bless her heart, she stayed late to finish up all the cutting and told me about The Old Country Store - we rushed across the street, they were due to close in about 20 minutes! $5.99 for batiks, $4.00 for Kona cotton. They were so nice to stay open as well, because I kept finding things I just HAD to have! Now I'm going to ruler fold everything and get organized.

Love both of those shops and the folks that work in them. So sorry you didn't have a chance to visit more shops in the area.

Great selection of material. Guess you really made their day at the shops.

Years ago I was second in line to have my fabric cut, and the lady who was first ordered her fabric in inches. She was making slip covers for a couch. I've sometimes wondered how her project turned out. At least it wasn't pounds. By the way the sales lady helped her figure out the yardage needed. lol and yes I waited--I was more patient in my younger years.

Not only was it good customer service to you, but it was great business sense for the shops to stay open late to serve you. Look how much you bought!

What a good time you had!
