As if I weren’t busy enough, I’ve decided to tackle one more project for Christmas, a wreath. I had actually ordered up another pattern for a “Nutcracker” wreath from a past holiday Quilter magazine, but I just couldn’t help myself when I found this pattern at McCall’s:

It’s quite different from the one I ordered, and aside from the embarrassment of having to have so many quarters of fabric cut all at once (I couldn't find enough fat quarters I liked), I think it should prove fun. Now for a heck of a lot of cutting squares, half triangles, and quarter triangles!
    :D

Cute pattern. Sew first, then cut into half square triangles. It won't be as hard as you think

I'm eager to see what yours looks like! I can't wait to see your color choices, as those things tend to intimidate me and I admire those who step in with confidence.

I've been practicing both methods on triangles with scraps just to become familiar and proficient with the techniques. I'll probably go ahead and follow the instructions as given this time, but it might behoove me to try another with the ‘sew together first’ method.
