Default Penguin Santa - Lessons Learned

There's really nothing wrong with my sewing machine. When you're sewing through 4 layers of polar fleece, you need to use a ball point needle and go V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y!!
I ended up using a smaller width satin stitch to compress the fabric, then a wider stitch for the outline effect.
He's a little stretched out of shape from all the ripping-restitching I had to do. This was a seriously frustrating project.
I'll wash and block him and I think he'll be fine. This little guy can go to my friend's charity auction.
Tomorrow I will try again with fresh fabric and a fresh attitude!

He's a really cute cuddly quilt for sure! How big did he end up? Polar fleece doesn't ravel does it? Could you stitch ¼" inside each shape and give him the "fuzzy" look instead of doing all the satin stitching?

He turned out really cute! Nice and cuddly for a little one. Glad it had a happy ending.
