Well, I bought one, it was 30 something with shipping. Pricey, to be sure. But it works very well and I believe I will get a lot of use out of it. I have already quilted my first small 47x41 I Spy quilt on it. Had it done in just a few hours, with way less trouble with my thread than I did last time. Just have to get the binding on it now. Can anyone tell me what is a reasonable price for a quilt this size? :?:

Too lazy to search topics.

What is this and how does it work? I looked it up and am still clueless.

    Thanks! (Embarassed) Celeste

it's a silicon mat you put over the machine bed to make it smoother. helps the quilt sandwich move more easily under the needle.

glad to hear it works. i wasn't going to part with my $$$ until i got a testimonial. :P

    Thank you Patrice!

It's funny what a few words from you can teach, and their photos and description couldn't! :-)

Saw these at the quilt show the other day. Looks nice, but I am a cheep sucker.
They have some sort of Silicone backing that keeps it from sliding. Little hole for the needle. The only problem I saw was always having to pull it up when changing bobbins.

the ones they make for cookie sheets are less expensive AND come in a variety of larger sizes.

wouldn't cost me nuthin' to poke a hole in it for the needle. i own a hammer and nails.

    hmmmmmmm 8)

i'm STILL waiting for tim to build me a proper table with a well to set my machine in. then i could make good use of the biggest size.

i keep checkin' the mailbox but it's never there. :(

guess i'll have to experiment with one of the small ones.
