Default Personal Quilt Show

Last yr when I went to MI my SIL asked me to find a sewing machine for my Great Niece. This yr when I went to visit (& the AQS show in GR) I knew we would be doing more than 4-patch mug rugs so I brought more charm packs & some layer cakes with me. Here is what she did. I sewed 2 squares to show what to do, did the next pair together & she did the rest. Did the same with sewing the rows, so she did 90% on her own with me sitting next to her. She wanted fleece for the back so off to the store I went. Took the top with me & it got rave reviews from the clerks & a few customers. They were amazed at how well the seams matched.
Can you tell she's pleased with the results. 3/8" seams & a little crooked but looking at that smile I figure the nit pic details can wait. Almost forgot, she's 9 yrs old!

You are the best aunt ever! I'll bet your SIL is really grateful that you spent time teaching her girls! They sure look proud....and they should be....They did a fine job.

How wonderful! God bless you for taking the time in a young girl's life to show her how to quilt, how to sew, how to overcome fear of failure, and now she will have a hobby that will comfort her during her darkest hours, that will add joy when she is joyful, and that she can share with another. i can see her enjoying this for the rest of her life. Again, God bless you.

Congratulations for getting another quilter inspired and started in the right direction. By the look of the twinkle in the eyes of the little one, I think there may be yet another quilter ready to start. Sweet!
