Default Easy Banana dessert

Layer pan with graham crackers. You can break them to over it. Layer sliced longwise bananas on top, cover with a layer of crackers, then bananas. Last layer crackers.

Top with chocolate frosting and put in refrigerator overnight.

That sounds like it would be good with vanilla pudding added to the layers.

My mom used to make a dessert using graham crackers, jello, sliced bananas and Cool Whip. She brought it to all the family get-togethers and it seemed to be loved by all. Being brought up in an Italian family, there were a lot of get-togethers!

She would take a 9x13" Pyrex dish and put down a layer of graham crackers to completely cover the bottom of the dish. Next she added sliced bananas to cover the graham crackers. She made Jell-O (usually one of the red ones) and let it sit in the refrigerator until it was very wiggly (soft set) but would still hold up and be spreadable. She added half of the Jell-O over the top of the banana layer. She would add another layer of graham crackers, sliced bananas, and the rest of the Jell-O. She then topped it with the last layer of graham crackers. After that she spread Cool Whip on top like an icing and sprinkled some chopped walnuts on it to make it look pretty. Refrigerate for a couple of hours so that it all holds together and the Jell-O is completely set. You cut it into squares for serving.

I guess I should have said that you should make the Jell-O first so that it has time to slightly set. It is a pretty easy dessert to make and when it is cut into serving squares, it looks quite pretty.
