Default Matching shams for purple scrappy stars.

I just finished two king sized shams for my purple scrappy stars quilt. I used a Pinterest tutorial for measurements. I had some left over scrappy blocks, so I made a star using purple batik for the star points. I ran out of the gray dotted fabric and had to drive 45 minutes to the shop I originally bought fabric. They only had 4 fat quarters of my fabric left, so I did some piecing. I also lined the front of the sham with fusible fleece, which gives it some weight and made the outlined stars stand out, it also made the fabric "behave" I overcast the inside seams, so it gives it a nice finish. The shams have a 2 inch flange all around, this is where I learned how important it is to measure correctly before cutting. Somehow one end was 1 inch off and created puckers where they shouldn't be. I have heard that the Amish put intentional errors in their quilts, as it is meant to keep us humble. So I call an Amish error. Enjoy and thanks for looking.

I only made actual shams to go with one of my quilts. After those I just make pillow covers to throw over the pillows.

Yours are very nice, beautiful quilt.

Those go perfectly with the quilt. And that is a great idea to use the fusible fleece!
