Default Broken Star but what variety?

This is just a snapshot of a quilt at an auction. I always wanted to make one, but I'm still hunting the pattern. It's a broken lone star? with a sparkler in each of the blocks, right? I've got a Judy Martin book on the way. Maybe it's just a lone star with blocks.

Can you point me in the correct direction?

I just looked up the words Bethlehem Star and found a bunch that look like yours. The center part anyway.....

Wow! What a pattern! I've never seen it before in any of my books. I will keep an eye out for this one.

That is just crazy. I've never seen one like this before and am sure I wouldn't be able to make one. Agree with the Bethlehem Star suggestion but this goes even further. I'm spellbound. No words to describe it's beauty. The colors are so rich.

Thanks to all. I ordered something very similar from Laundry Basket Quilts called Star of Bethlehem. I think the color placement make this one.

That is a very complex and intricate star. I'm not up to making something like that, but I wish you well.

It may be an old Judy Neimeyer Pattern.

That looks intense! I would have bought that at auction rather than attempt making it! You go Marcia! Show us as you progress!

Well it's uniform all the way around so no problem that it's 180 deg out. Except for the kind fellows holding it.
It looks like quite an endeavor but it sure is pretty.
