Default Plastic Markers In The Seams

This afternoon I sewed twenty blocks together, and five of the plastic row markers are stuck in the seams. I thought they were far enough from the edge, but I was wrong. Now I have to fiddle with that before I can go any further.

Boston, I'm sorry about this.
What are row markers?

I just mark my blocks and rows with Crayola washable markers. They all wash out.

My sister gave me these little squares with holes in the middle for keeping track of the blocks. Here is an older quilt with some pinned on the left. I did not pin them away from the edge, and they turned on me. Yes, they turned a bit and got caught up in the seams. Arrrggghhh!

This is a small watercolor topper that I made by cutting 2" squares out of a color graduated fabric. I labeled every square so that I didn't mess up the placement.

I lay out a few rows (narrow table), take a picture, then use a mini-clip marked with a number to clip on the first block of each row.

(having a photo clearly shows me if I should re-arrange some blocks, too!)

I have to say that I have been using them for about six years, and up until yesterday, I've not had a problem. I just happened to pin them too close to the edge this time.
