You are always SO good at this....you have helped alot of people with patterns before and I thought of you right away this morning when I went to try to figure this one out.

I am trying to make the attached block into a 12 inch finished block (12 1/2 inch unfinished)....how big does the center square need to be and how wide do the side strips need to be ....I can wing the corners and the hearts I have precut already...just need help with those two measurements to come up with my 12 inch block.....

    :?:

PS....the pattern shown is only 4 inches square in the book! LOL I tried to enlarge it and couldn't get it to quite come out right doing that so just didn't know how else to figure it out! I am feeling dumb right now, but then I've been up and at it for 3 hours already....almost naptime!

rotary from EQ. you'll probably be fine rounding every up to whole inches, but you might want to do a sample with paper first just to be sure.

Patrice....Thank you again!! I put it together and it worked out great! I haven't appliqued the hearts on yet...but wanted to show you how well it worked out! Thanks again!

This is one of 30 blocks for my DGD's quilt! She wanted a purple quilt! LOL I am doing a sampler style quilt and the border on the quilt will "somewhat" match the wallpaper border (the reason for the lime green color!) she has in her room. I'm hoping to get it done by Christmas....didn't quite make her birthday which was about a month ago! LOL

Just add that one to my "To Do" list--really beautiful. LOve the colors you chose for the block!

Thanks Vicki...I've been collecting shades of purple and lime green for some time now.... her bedroom wall border paper is pretty wild! LOL And she doesn't know this is coming... my daughter told me that when they put up the wallpaper border she said "Now I need to ask gramma to make me a purple quilt!" LOL
