Default Bias binding

I usually bind with wof double binding but have a quilt that I now think a bias binding using plaid would add to the finished product. I would like to use the method that a person creates the tube and it ends up as one continuous strip of bias binding. Is there a "graph" somewhere that will tell me how big of a square I need to yield various lengths of bias binding? (such as-- a certain size square yields x number of inches of bias binding that is 2 1/4" wide) I don't need enough binding to finish a queen size if I'm only working with a twin! But I don't want to come up 5 inches short either.
