Default Singer 201 motor removal

After taking off the clutch wheel and the odd stop washer and the wiring. I had a puzzle to consider. It is mounted with two screws that are parallel to the main shaft and recessed in where the drive hear would normally be. A conventional screwdriver would get to the screws, but I could not apply enough torque to start them to loosen. Head scratching A 1/4" ratchet with a socket and a screwdriver bit, would just barely squeeze into place. I very carefully held the ratchet so the blade would not fall out of the screw slot and gave the ratchet a quick rap with my hand . Once it popped loose, my regular screwdriver got it YAY subway card just for size reference. Not my favorite place.

I found that a light tap with a hammer on the end of the correctly sized screwdriver in place worked too for the same screws.

This 10 pounder is all I had available, which is why I used a light tap. It also comes in handy for other problems, such as the T&S 636 I was crying over, which is now a parts machine, or what's left of it.
