Topaz 30 stitching problem
My Topaz 30 just started to skip stitches. Not when in the embroidery mode but when I went to do some straight stitching for making a quilt. I phoned the LQS where I bought Topaz, to find out if anyone in the area is fixing machines these days. And No, there isn't any repair place. Can anyone suggest where can I find a service manual for this machine? I am glad I have my old sewing machine that I can use, but really I would like to get Topaz up and running. Would I have to wait till things open up and make a driving trip south to Toronto for a repair? thanks for listening.

I have the Topaz 20 - and have not had a skipping problem, have you checked the manual for the trouble shooting problems? My Janome MC6600P started missing about every 5th stitch, and when I checked the manual it stated in all caps to change the needle. (I cannot do the same here because it is considered yelling.) But have you changed the needle recently?

Thank you for responding! and giving me some encouragement. What brand of needles do you use? My machine is so fussy and stores here are closed that is another dilemma. I just finished an embroidery project and needed to switch to make some quilt squares. changed a new needle, changed thread-which I have used before, with no problems and cleaned machine. Someone said even a new needle can be not good. Topaz is in time out and I will look again at it and redo everything and keep my fingers crossed. From what I have gathered, there is no one locally who can fix it, and it would be a drive to get it fixed. My DH says just buy a new machine. oh my goodness. I just want it fixed so I can get on with my projects.
